Topics include:

• CDL Regulations and the Changing Landscape(Course Number 02-101901-31, Water/Wastewater Safety Credits, 2.50 TCHs) — Steve Ferris, EBF Enterprises.

The changing landscape of illegal drugs, recreational and medicinal use of marijuana, misuse of prescription medications, and updates to the US DOT drug and alcohol testing procedures.

• Excavation & Shoring (Course Number 02-101902-31, Water/Wastewater Safety Credits, 2.00 TCHs) — Anthony Morreale, Tri-State Safety Solutions.

  • Part 1: Basic requirements of working safely in excavations with an emphasis on the role and responsibilities of the competent person.
  • Part 2: What is involved in an OSHA/PEOSH inspection, concerns of inspectors, and expectations of the competent person.

About the speakers:

  • Steve Ferris is the owner of EBF Enterprises, a company that specializes in DOT and non-DOT policies, procedures, and training.  Steve is a certified Blood Alcohol Technician who has extensive experience with public and private employers. He uses his real life experiences to illustrate and present the material in a highly interactive manner that encourages participants to ask difficult questions. 
  • Anthony Morreale is the co-owner of Tri-State Safety Solutions. Anthony is an air force veteran with over 25 years’ experience in CPR | DOT | EPA | OSHA | and regulatory compliance. For over 10 years, Anthony has been training and consulting in both private (construction, manufacturing, and transportation) and governmental workplaces. Anthony blends his extensive knowledge of good safety practices with practical examples customized to the audience he is presenting.
