Join us for a lunch time webinar on Alternative Treatment Technique for PFAS – Ion Exchange, presented by Orren Schneider, Ph.D, P.E.

Registration will be open until 10 AM on August 28, 2019!

Poly and perfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) have become a major concern in water supplies around the country, and especially in New Jersey, which has the most stringent regulations for some of these compounds. To date, the most common method of removing these compounds from potable water supplies has been with granular activated carbon (GAC). More recently, however, ion exchange (IX) with anionic resins has become cost competitive with GAC. This presentation will outline the mechanisms for removal of PFAS by IX resins, commercially available treatment options, interferences by competing anions, and cost comparisons against the GAC benchmark. In addition, a new approach for treatment of waste IX brine by electrochemical means will also be presented.
