Presented by: Pro-Activity Associates, LLC Target
Audience: All Utility Administrative and Field Personnel
Pro-Activity Associates, LLC a prevention and performance services provider based in New Jersey, has a successful history working with employers (with emphasis on utilities) to help prevent and manage movement related pain syndromes, one of the highest injury risks faced by the utility workforce.
Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Movement-related Pain syndromes disproportionately impact the working population in the United States, accounting for up to 33% of days lost due to non-fatal injury (BLS 2013) and remain in the top 3 conditions for men and women (GBD 2014).
The financial impact of these conditions, estimated at $250 Billion (UC Davis 2013) more than doubles (estimated $635 B) when these conditions transition to chronic pain.
Even more distressing, the commonality of these conditions combined with the mismanagement of the underlying problems has resulted in the worst drug epidemic in US history claiming more lives than other well-known epidemics (e.g. HIV/ AIDS) at their peak.
If left unaddressed, as America ages (from now until 2060) the scenario may even get worse as age is correlated to MSK and related pain syndromes.
