Student poster competition winners announced
This spring, NJAWWA sponsored the third annual
National Drinking Water Week poster competition for
students in kindergarten through 5th grade. The theme
of this year's poster competition was "Only Tap Water
Delivers." Thank you to all the students and NJAWWA
members who participated in this year's student
poster competition.
Six year-old Albert Grayson from Tuckerton Elementary
School was the overall winner in the kindergarten and
1st grade category. Mrs. Marge Selfridge's 1st grade
class, also from Tuckerton Elementary School, was the
winner of the overall classroom participation prize
in the kindergarten and 1st grade category.
Mrs. Selfridge's class will be receiving a pizza
party, prizes, and a classroom presentation on water
from NJAWWA. In addition, Mrs. Selfridge will receive
$100 to be used at the AWWA online bookstore or
toward NJ Project WET.
Eight year-old Mugdha Parulekar from South End School
in Cedar Grove was the overall winner in the 2nd and
3rd grade category.
Eleven year-old Emily Walczyk from Lafayette Avenue
School in Chatham was the overall winner in the 4th
and 5th grade category.
Each winning student in their grade category will
receive $100 and a framed copy of their winning
poster. All children who participated in this year's
competition will receive prizes for their creativity
and efforts.
